The primary mission of the Duquesne University
Center for Legal Information is to meet the research
needs of the law school's students, to satisfy the
demands of the law school curriculum, and to facilitate
the education of our students. We also want to support
the teaching, research, and service interests of our
faculty as well as any special teaching, research,
or service objectives of the law school. Additionally,
the Center serves the needs of the University community
and the alumni. As a public service the Center also
serves the practicing bar, the courts' legal staff,
and the public-at-large.
The Center will provide a reliable core
collection of essential materials as well as additional
collections, equipment and services to support the
law school's curriculum. The Center will keep its collection
reasonably up-to-date by using various formats (printed
sources, microforms, or access to electronic information)
that meet the needs of our patrons.
The Center's staff designs and implements
the legal research component of the law school's Legal
Research and Writing Program, and they develop other
continuing legal research educational programs to ensure
and enhance the legal research competency of the law
faculty and students.
