How Do I ... Ask a Reference Question?

Please do not hesitate to Ask a Librarian if you require assistance.

There are several different ways to ask a reference question.

  • In Person

DCLI Reference Librarians regularly staff the Reference Desk, which is found on the entrance floor of the library. Reference Hours are Monday-Thursday 9am-9pm, Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 12pm-9pm.

  • Via Telephone

Reference questions can also be made via the telephone to 412-396-5017. The circulation assistant on duty will connect you with a Reference Librarian. If you wish, you may also directly phone a User Services Staff member. Telephone information can be found here for Duquesne users or here for Allegheny County Library Users

  • Via Email (for the Law School community)

E-mail reference is now available. Simply send your reference question to lawreference@duq.edu or use the form that is available at http://www.lawlib.duq.edu/eReference.html.  A Reference Librarian will reply to you via email.
